Understanding your bill
Would you like to know more about your Waternet bill(s)? We would be happy to explain what is stated on the different types of bills.
You can easily pay your bills via direct debit. You also have the option to pay everything in one go via iDEAL or internet banking.
Frequently asked questions
If you moved out of The Netherlands, you may still have to pay an outstanding amount. Please check what kind of bill you received: waterschapsbelasting (water authority tax) or drinkwater (tap water).
You may receive 2 types of bills: 1 for tap water and 1 for water authority tax. That’s because we are not only a tap water supplier. We also levy taxes for the regional water authority Amstel, Gooi en Vecht.
A tenant should always pay water authority tax. Your landlord or expat agency could be the account holders for tap water. In that case you will not receive a tap water bill from Waternet.
We will automatically refund the money to your last known bank account number (IBAN).
