File an objection

Is your water tax assessment incorrect? Then you can file an objection. Do you disagree with the ruling regarding your objection? Then you can submit an appeal. Please make sure that you do so in a timely manner.

Objection procedure

You must file your objection within 6 weeks after the date of the water authority tax assessment. This date is stated on the right corner of the assessment notice.

Online objection procedure against the water authority tax assessment

You can easily submit an online objection on My Waternet. This can be done in 6 steps:

1. Go to My Waternet and please select the reason for your objection.
2. Log in with your DigiD. Would you like to know more about DigiD? Then please visit digid.nl.
3. Select the tax assessment which you wish to object to.
4. Please explain the reason for your objection.
5. Check your objection.
6. Submit the objection.

Unable to pay the water authority tax assessment? Request a remission instead.

Are you unable to pay the water authority tax assessment? Then you may request a remission and  do not have to submit an objection. You can request a remission on My Waternet.

What happens after I have submitted my objection?

You will receive a ruling regarding your objection within 6 weeks after we received your objection. You will receive this through the post. The payment of your  water authority tax assessment will be postponed until you have received the ruling. This is called deferral of payment.

What can I do if I disagree with the ruling regarding my objection?

Do you disagree with the ruling regarding your objection? Then you have the right to appeal in court.
