About us

For more than 170 years, Waternet and its predecessors have been providing clean drinking water in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. This is important for everyone. We do this with the help of nature and modern technology. We also treat sewage water, maintain the sewer system, measure groundwater levels, keep the canals clean and maintain and operate many bridges and locks in Amsterdam on behalf of the municipality of Amsterdam. We work as sustainably as possible.
