There are 2 type of sewer water: wastewater and rainwater. Learn more about what we do with all this sewage water.
We use an average of 150 litres of water a day. This water flows into the sewer system, is treated and is then released back into the surface water.
New neighbourhoods in Amsterdam have a separated sewer system. Old neighbourhoods still have a combined system. Find out more and view the video clip.
