- A household of 1 person uses an average of 192 litres per person per day.
- A household of 2 people uses an average of 135 litres per person per day.
- A household of 3 and 4 people uses an average of 116.5 litres per person per day.
How much water do I use yearly?
Are you a customer of Waternet and do you have a water meter? Then the water meter calculates how much water you use. You can see your annual water consumption on your annual statement in cubic metres (1 m³ = 1,000 litres).

Save water at home
You can easily save water. Using less water is better for the environment. And because heating water costs energy, you can also save money if you use less hot water.
Our tips:
- Reduce shower time
- Use a water-saving showerhead.
- Use the small button on the toilet
